Dangers assessed: Study says radioactive leaks from Seabrook or Vermont Yankee could impact millions.

Drinking water for almost 4 million people could be at risk of radioactive contamination from a leak or accident at the Seabrook nuclear power plant and over 3 million from Vermont Yankee, according to a study issued Monday which is disputed by some nuclear plants.

The NHPIRG report, issued in advance of Black Friday, warns shoppers which toys the group recommends they avoid.

The report includes results of toys tested for lead and phthalates, both of which are dangerous for the development of young children. The report also lists toys that pose choking or noise hazards.

Survey Finds Toxic or Dangerous Toys on New Hampshire Store Shelves

Dangerous or toxic toys can still be found on America’s store shelves, according a New Hampshire Public Interest Research Group’s  26th annual Trouble in Toyland report.

This morning NHPIRG released the report. It reveals the results of laboratory testing on toys for lead and phthalates, both of which have been proven to have serious adverse health impacts on the development of young children.  The survey also found toys that pose either choking or noise hazards.
